Adrian Herrera Named CCIW Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Carthage College's Adrian Herrera has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Herrera becomes the second Red Men player to be awarded the honor, joining Jamie Tausend from earlier this season. Herrera, a junior midfielder from Palatine, Illinois, and Buffalo Grove High School (management major), helped lead the Red Men to a pair of wins against CCIW competition last week.

The Red Men held Elmhurst to just two shots on goal in a 5-0 shutout of the Bluejays on October 18. Herrera also scored a pair of goals in the contest. Carthage then held Illinois Wesleyan to six shots on goal in a 2-1 win over the Titans on October 21. Herrera added assists on Johnny Rimkus' and Kevin Mahoney's goals.
