Fort Wayne student participates in a J-Term study tour to London

2016 Jan 29

Krista Rumfield of Fort Wayne participated in a J-Term study tour to London with Carthage College.

Students on this tour studied how multiple social identities (e.g., gender, race, class) create unique experiences and perspectives for individuals. Students met with local advocacy groups, visited museums, and attended a theater performance as they examined practical and theoretical implications of social categories. Using an interdisciplinary approach, students applied sociological and psychological perspectives to understanding identity, diversity, and equality.

J-Term is a special month-long period of study in which Carthage students explore subjects outside their majors or minors, discover new interests, and test their creativity through classes held both on campus and around the world. It's a month to experiment, create and dream. Carthage is ranked No. 4 in the nation among baccalaureate institutions for student participation in short-term study abroad.
