Jacelyn Peabody is Carthage College's 2013-2014 Intern of the Year.

The Carthage Intern of the Year is awarded with $250 and has his or her name displayed prominently on a plaque in the Career Services office. All currently enrolled students who have participated in experiential learning (SURE, field placements, internships, student teaching etc.) are eligible for the award. These experiences could have been for credit or no credit, paid or unpaid.

Based on nominations from site supervisors and/or faculty advisors, the nominees:

  • displayed a positive attitude and willingness to work through obstacles.
  • went beyond the internship's job responsibilities and consistently exceeded established performance standards.
  • demonstrated work behaviors that support Carthage's core values.
  • provided exceptional service to the organization or community.

The winner was selected by vote among award sponsor Edward W. Smeds '57, President Gregory Woodward, Provost Julio Rivera, Associate Provost David Steege, and Director of Internships Carolynn Friesch.
