Logen Bartz traveled to Bogota, Colombia with Carthage Model UN

2016 Mar 31

Logen Bartz was one of 17 Model United Nations students that spent most of their Spring Break in Bogota, Colombia participating in a Model United Nations (MONUA) conference at the Universidad de los Andes.

While there, the students tested their diplomatic skills against approximately 450 students from Bolivia, Colombia, Uruguay, and Venezuela. The students were not only the first students from the United States to participate in this conference, they were also the first students from North America.

Some of the Carthage students addressed topics such as the refugee crisis affecting Europe, migration in Africa, and migrant stabilization inside host countries. Other students discussed sustainable energies and their use/application in the Middle East. Three students examined the expansion and consolidation of the power of the International Monetary Fund (the Bilderberg Club) throughout the world with the intent of limiting, and eventually destroying, the influence of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa).
