Michael Moen helped the Carthage Math FaceOff! Team take first place at the Pi Mu Epsilon Undergraduate Research Conference at St. Norbert College.

Carthage topped Bethany Lutheran University, Ripon College, UW-Whitewater, Winona State University, Loras College, Marquette University, Purdue University Calumet, St. Norbert College, UW-Milwaukee and UW-Stevens Point. In the past 6 1/2 years, Carthage has played FaceOff! 13 times, recording 11 wins and two second-place finishes.

FaceOff! is a mathematics quiz show with questions from the broad realm of mathematics. Teams of students who have taken or are enrolled in Calculus I are eligible to play FaceOff!
