Morgan Harris Named to 2016-17 COSIDA Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team

Carthage College women's basketball junior guard Morgan Harris was named to the 2016-17 College of Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District Team on Thursday morning.

Harris was named to the District 6 team, which comprises of schools in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan. The Arlington Heights, Ill. native holds a 3.94 cumulative grade point average as a biology major.

On the hardwoord, she's played and started in 20 games this season while leading the Lady Reds with 7.1 rebounds per game and 116 assists. Harris's 5.5 assists per game currently leads the CCIW and ranks 10th in NCAA Division III. The guard currently ranks second on the team with 11.1 points per game.

The 2015-16 season saw Harris land a spot on the All-CCIW First Team, and D3Hoops.com All-Central Region Second Team. Harris represented the winter sports as a 2015-16 CCIW Jack Swartz All-Academic recipient.
