Nicole Devine participated in a J-Term study tour to Guatemala

Nicole Devine of Elk Grove Village, IL participated in a J-Term study tour to Guatemala. Students on this tour studied the sustainability of rural development practices around Lago Atitlan and in El Peten. While primarily an economics class, the sustainability of economic progress often rests on questions of sustainability of natural systems as well as the effectiveness of the social institutions responsible for governance, education, contract enforcement, and public safety.
