Plano student participates in a J-Term study tour to Hungary and Austria

2017 Feb 8

Annie Shirley of Plano participated in a J-Term study tour to Hungary and Austria with Carthage College.

The "Kodaly Music Pedagogy in Context" study tour focused on the study of the Kodaly Method, one of the most important music pedagogy methods in the Western World. Students traveled to the city of Kecskemet, in Hungary, and studied at the world-renowned Kodaly Institute of Music. The group also visited Budapest and Vienna.

J-Term is a special month-long period of study in which Carthage students explore subjects outside their majors or minors, discover new interests, and test their creativity through classes held both on campus and around the world. It's a month to experiment, create and dream. Carthage is ranked No. 4 in the nation among baccalaureate institutions for student participation in short-term study abroad.
