Racine student presents at National Conference on Undergraduate Research

2017 Apr 13

Shay King of Racine was one of 28 Carthage College students to present at the 2017 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR), which was held April 6-8 at the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee. NCUR is the country's largest conference dedicated to undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative works in all disciplines.

Shay presented "Gendered Self-Knowledge And Disempowering Laughter: A Feminist Examination Of Humor Dynamics In Jane Austen's Pride And Prejudice".

Carthage students at NCUR represented a wide variety of disciplines. At the conference, they gave either oral or poster presentations, received feedback on their work, learned more about available career options, and viewed other research in their fields.
