Wheaton student participates in a J-Term study tour to Sweden

2017 Feb 7

Emily Reinhard of Wheaton participated in a J-Term study tour to Sweden with Carthage College.

Students on the "International Business and Cultural Analysis of Sweden" study tour learned about international business and marketing as they explore Goteborg, Sweden. They have incredible access to executives from companies like ABB Robotics, Volvo Cars, Saab Aerospace, SKAPA (a major advertising agency), and SKF Ball Bearings. They also visited a few smaller start-up companies.

Carthage partnered with Goteborg University, which provided local experts for private lectures and allowed Carthage students to join a few classes. The study tour also included many fun and exciting adventures such as a cooking class with a famous chef, a professional hockey game, an afternoon of curling, and a boat tour of the islands.

J-Term is a special month-long period of study in which Carthage students explore subjects outside their majors or minors, discover new interests, and test their creativity through classes held both on campus and around the world. It's a month to experiment, create and dream. Carthage is ranked No. 4 in the nation among baccalaureate institutions for student participation in short-term study abroad.
