Planning a career in international development, Georgia Fox '22 will have the chance to hone her linguistic and cultural skills while studying French in Dakar, Senegal with the support of the Boren Scholarship. Fox is the first ever Carthage College student to receive this scholarship.

Six Carthage students received Fulbright fellowships for 2018-19, the most in a single year at the College.

Celestine Ananda has been named a 2018-19 Rossing Physics Scholar.

Carthage student Erika Salonga, majoring in nursing from Gurnee has been selected to receive a CIC/UPS Scholarship provided by the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) and its national partner, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) in Washington, DC.

A total of 47 first-year Carthage College students won scholarships ranging from 75 percent of tuition to full tuition, room, and board through a variety of scholarship competitions.

The Modern Languages Department would like to congratulate Andrew Igl on his winning of the MEXT Japanese Government Scholarship! The scholarship will fully fund his yearlong study abroad at Tokyo Gakugei University from Fall 2017 to Spring 2018.

The National Science Foundation has awarded Carthage College about $1.2 million to recruit strong STEM students to fill gaps in the high school teaching field. With this grant from the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program, Carthage can provide partial scholarships for up to 26 students over the next five years. The program is open to enrolled students majoring in biology, chemistry, mathematics, or physics.

Global Heritage courses are concerned with ideas, works, and practices of non-Western traditions. The Global Heritage Competition is held annually to honor exceptional work in projects with a focus on non-Western traditions and peoples.

The Heritage Scholarship Program has two main purposes. Those purposes are to acknowledge and celebrate the high quality of student learning through the Western Heritage classes and to offer an opportunity for currently enrolled students to receive substantial scholarship support.

The Tarble Family California Scholarship is available to incoming freshmen or transfer students from California. Recipients will receive up to $25,000 per year in Carthage assistance.

Eight full-tuition scholarships are awarded to Kenosha residents in recognition of the City of Kenosha's agreement to lease land to Carthage for construction of a student village and parking. These scholarships incorporate all Carthage assistance, and are valued in excess of $160,000 each.

Two scholarships, renewable for up to three years, are awarded to new incoming transfer students who show determination, intelligence and motivation.

One full-tuition scholarship is awarded to a dependent of a city of Kenosha police officer or firefighter.

Carthage awards one full-tuition and two 75% tuition math/science scholarships each year to incoming students. These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate ability in mathematics and natural sciences, and are renewable for four years.

Carthage awards one full-tuition and two 75% tuition business scholarships each year to incoming students. These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate ability in business, and are renewable for four years.

Carthage awards 10 Modern Languages scholarships each year to incoming students. These scholarships cover 75% of tuition, and are renewable for four years. The Modern Languages Department is home to a diverse mix of students, faculty, and Target Language Experts from China, Colombia, France Germany, Guatemala, Japan, and Spain.

The Multicultural Leadership Scholarship is awarded to applicants who exhibit exemplary leadership qualities and potential, and commitment to actively contribute to the diversity of Carthage through participation in campus activities. These scholarships incorporate all Carthage assistance.

The Presidential Scholarship is open to all majors and awards 35 scholarships ranging from 75% tuition to full tuition, room and board. During the campus visit, prospective Presidential Scholars will have a conversation with two faculty/staff members and/or complete an essay.

The Goldwater Scholarship is a federally endowed award honoring former senator Barry Goldwater. It is designed to support and encourage students to pursue careers in the natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering fields. It provides up to $7,500 in funding per year over one or two years. Sophomores and juniors with an interest in entering research-based graduate school are eligible to apply.

Up to eight Modern Language Scholarships are awarded to students majoring in Chinese (two scholarships), French (two scholarships), German (two scholarships), or Japanese (two scholarships).
