Carthage Elementary Education Students Host Energy Conservation Day
Carthage elementary education students recently applied what they are learning in their course, Effectively Teaching Science in the Elementary and Middle School, to coordinate the first-ever Energy Conservation Day on April 11 to teach science to fifth-graders. This experience gave the elementary education students in their junior year real-world experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and thinking on their feet. In the weeks leading up to the event, the class designed the lessons, ordered supplies, and established learning targets. They can apply their collaboration and problem-solving skills when they student teach next year.
