The Carthage College Environmental Science Department is excited to welcome the Omega Chapter of Kappa Alpha Omicron, an Environmental Honors Society affiliated with the Interdisciplinary Environmental Association.

The Carthage chapter of the National Society of Leadership & Success (NSLS) just celebrated its first class of inductees. To achieve official induction, members attended Orientation, Leadership Training Day, three Speaker Broadcasts, and three Success Networking Team meetings.

The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced the 2020 ACWPC Women's Division III All-America Teams with Carthage College senior Emma Jeronimus and Carthage freshman Megan Cales being named All-America Second Team and Honorable Mention respectively.

Five Carthage College students competed in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Musical Theater Auditions in Chicago. Due to the current stay-at-home order, singers were invited to submit video recordings to be judged virtually.

Carthage College's Management and Marketing Department names Lyndsey Bielinski '20 as the Outstanding Senior in Marketing for the 2019-20 academic year. Lyndsey is a marketing major with minors in Spanish and public relations, and will graduate Magna Cum Laude.

Carthage College's Management and Marketing Department named Kendall Bacon '20 as the Outstanding Senior in Management for the 2019-20 academic year. Kendall is a double major in management and marketing with a minor in public relations, and will graduate Magna Cum Laude.

Carthage College's Accounting and Finance Department names Haylee Sippel '20 as the Outstanding Senior in Accounting for the 2019-20 academic year. Haylee is an accounting and finance double major and will graduate Summa Cum Laude.

Gunnar Goetz '20 has been recognized by the highly competitive National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship program.

Katiann Nelson '22 recently accepted an internship with the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. The highly competitive internship allows Nelson the opportunity to work with two departments at the Conservatory: Education and Administration.

The National Volleyball Association and American Volleyball Coaches Association (NVA/AVCA) announced the 2020 AVCA All-Region teams for NCAA Division III men's volleyball with Carthage College student-athletes Matt Slivinski, Jacob Allard and Braeden Waumans landing on the all-region list while Slivinski was honored with receiving AVCA West Region Player of the Year.

Planning a career in international development, Georgia Fox '22 will have the chance to hone her linguistic and cultural skills while studying French in Dakar, Senegal with the support of the Boren Scholarship. Fox is the first ever Carthage College student to receive this scholarship.

The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) announced the winners of the Merle Chapman Leadership Award from each school, with the student-athlete advisory committee at Carthage College selecting Sarah Schmidt and Jacob Allard.

The National Volleyball Association and American Volleyball Coaches Association (NVA/AVCA) announced the 2020 NVA/AVCA All-America teams for NCAA Division III men's volleyball with Carthage College student-athlete Matt Slivinski landing on the all-america first team list.

The NASA Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium and related space sciences projects made twenty awards to Carthage students and faculty this year, totaling $95,000. The Consortium funds a wide variety of STEM programs across the state, including undergraduate and graduate education, as well as faculty and post-doctoral work. Awards are made to students to defray tuition costs, to support research initiatives, and to provide participation in statewide and national competitions and programs. Faculty awards support research, teaching, and capstone projects.

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) selected its All-American teams for the 2019-20 season with both Carthage College swim programs landing a total of eight spots on the list following back-to-back College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) titles at the 2020 CCIW Swimming and Diving Championships.
