CCIW Athlete of the Week - Swimming and Diving

Mack Ryan and Phillip Vaccarello have been named CCIW Swimmer of the Week. Hailey Hathaway was named CCIW Diver of the Week. Ryan swam a lifetime best in the 200-yard butterfly to help the Lady Reds to a 205-77 dual-meet victory over Augustana on Saturday. Vaccarello helped lead the Red Men to a 184-93 win over Augustana in a dual meet at home on Saturday. Hathaway earned a personal best score for 11 dives in a dual meet with Augustana on Saturday.

McKenna Rakestraw won the 2017 Wisconsin Choral Directors Association (WCDA) Student Conducting Competition. The event is held annually in conjunction with the WCDA state convention.

Participated in the 2016 Carthage Christmas Festival

Yearly, Carthage College invites the community to celebrate the joy of the holiday season at the annual Carthage Christmas Festival, three performances of readings and music in the A. F. Siebert Chapel. These annual concerts are the College's Christmas gift to the community. Tickets to the Christmas Festival have been free since the festival began more than 20 years ago.

CCIW Player of the Week - Basketball

The CCIW announced that Mike Stevenson has been named the Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Stevenson, a senior forward from Burlington, Wisconsin, helped lead the Red Men to a 1-1 record last week including a win over ninth-ranked North Central. He scored 19 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field along with seven rebounds and three assists in an 85-75 win at North Central on December 7. He added 16 points, 10 rebounds and two assists at Augustana on December 10.

Participated in the first Carthage in Chicago Holiday Concert

The concert featured the Carthage Choir and Carthage Women's Ensemble. Special guests included the Crystal Lake Central High School A Capella Singers, Glenbrook High School Master Singers, and Prairie Ridge High School A Cappella Choir. The event took place at the Chicago Symphony Center.

CCIW Athlete of the Week - Swimming

The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced that Carthage College Lady Reds swimmer Kate Hugo has been named the Women's Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season following her performance at this past weekend's A3 Carthage Classic. Hugo, a junior from Neenah, Wisconsin, earned lifetime bests in all four of her individual events during the A3 Classic over the weekend.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced that Carthage College's Austin Bitta has been named to the 2016 NSCAA NCAA Division III Men's All-America Third Team.

Carthage Model United Nations students, accompanied by Professor Jeffrey Roberg and Professor Jerald Mast, spent four days of their Thanksgiving break in Chicago participating in the American Model United Nations (AMUN) Conference.

CCIW Newcomer of the Year - Men's Soccer

The anchor of the Carthage midfield and first line of the Carthage defense, Adrian Herrera, becomes the third Red Men player to receive the Newcomer of the Year award, joining Giles Phillips from a season ago and Ryan Crane in 2014. Since its introduction in 2012, Carthage has received three of the five honors.

CCIW Player of the Year - Men's Soccer

Senior forward Austin Bitta becomes the third Red Men in program history to receive the honor and second to earn the award outright. Previous winners include Mike Domin, who shared the award in 1997, and Zak Khoshbin. Statistically, Bitta led the CCIW this season in each of the major scoring categories with 39 points on 13 goals and 13 assists. Each of which will place him in the top five in each respective categories single season records list in Carthage history.

CCIW Tournament Champion - Soccer

The Carthage College men's soccer team completed a sweep of the 2016 CCIW regular season and tournament titles Saturday with their second straight CCIW Tournament championship, defeating Wheaton College, 2-1, at Art Keller Field. The win also gives Carthage the CCIW's Automatic Bid and guaranteed berth into the 2016 Division III Men's Soccer Championship.

CCIW Champion - Soccer

"We have gone undefeated in the league before and won conference championships," said head men's soccer coach Steve Domin, "but this one feels good because of the amount of work and traveling we have done with such a young group. Tournament and regular season Championships take great talent, some luck and a huge sense of want. This group has time and time again come back from the many doubters, deficits, adversity, and each day someone else picks us up."

CCIW Athlete of the Week - Swimming

The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced that the Carthage College Red Men and Lady Reds programs have programs have swept the CCIW's weekly honors as Mattea Arndt has been named the women's swimmer of the week, Cooper Hawkins has been named the men's swimmer of the week and Connor Pierson has received diver of the week recognitions.

Carthage Math Team wins FaceOff

The team took first place in the FaceOff competition at the Pi Mu Epsilon Undergraduate Research Conference at St. Norbert College. Carthage's team outscored teams from nine other colleges in both preliminary rounds and the final question round. Carthage teams have won FaceOff competitions more than 10 times at mathematics meetings in Wisconsin over the past five years.

CCIW Athlete of the Week - Diving

Rodriguez, a junior from Kenosha, Wisconsin, placed first on the one-meter board with a score of 255.50 during the Lady Reds' dual meet against Lake Forest on Saturday. Her score was a school record and lifetime best for a six-dive event, as well as a regional qualifier.

The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced Tuesday that Carthage College men's soccer has swept the final weekly honors of the 2016 season, as Johnny Rimkus and Adrian Herrera have been named the offensive and defensive players of the week respectively.

CCIW Player of the Week - Football

The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced Monday that Carthage College linebacker Greg Money has been named the week nine CCIW Defensive Player of the Week. Money, a senior from Palatine, Illinois, had a team-high seven tackles (five solo) and a safety during the Red Men's 50-28 win at Millikin on Saturday.

Eight full-tuition scholarships are awarded to Kenosha residents in recognition of the City of Kenosha's agreement to lease land to Carthage for construction of a student village and parking. These scholarships incorporate all Carthage assistance, and are valued in excess of $160,000 each.

Carthage awards one full-tuition and two 75% tuition math/science scholarships each year to incoming students. These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate ability in mathematics and natural sciences, and are renewable for four years.

Carthage awards 10 Modern Languages scholarships each year to incoming students. These scholarships cover 75% of tuition, and are renewable for four years. The Modern Languages Department is home to a diverse mix of students, faculty, and Target Language Experts from China, Colombia, France Germany, Guatemala, Japan, and Spain.

Presidential Scholarship Winner

The Presidential Scholarship is open to all majors and awards 35 scholarships ranging from 75% tuition to full tuition, room and board. During the campus visit, prospective Presidential Scholars will have a conversation with two faculty/staff members and/or complete an essay.
