CCIW Player of the Week - Soccer
The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced Tuesday, October 25th that the Carthage College men's soccer player, Jamie Tausend has been named the CCIW Men's Soccer Player of the Week. Tausend, a junior defender from Deer Park, Illinois, anchored a Carthage defense to two shutouts last week.

CCIW Athlete of the Week - Swimming
The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced Tuesday, October 25th that Carthage College's Kate Hugo has been named the CCIW Women's Swimmer of the Week following her performance at the All-Wisconsin Invitational this past weekend. Hugo placed third in the 100-yard backstroke at the invite on Saturday. Her time of 59.72 was an in-season best and also beat her 2016 CIW Championship time of 59.85.

CCIW Player of the Week - Volleyball
The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced Tuesday, October 18th that Carthage College's Stefanie Romanowski has been named the CCIW Offensive Player of the Week. Romanowski, a senior middle blocker from Kenosha, Wisconsin was named to the all-tournament team at UW-Platteville as the Lady Reds had their first 5-0 week (4-0 weekend) of the season.

Rebecca Lamp was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Tuesday morning. The sophomore from Powers Lake, Wisconsin took home the Wisconsin Private College Championship individual crown with a mark of 23:32.0, 20 seconds ahead of the pack.

The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced Tuesday that Carthage College's Giles Phillips has been named the Defensive Player of the Week following the sixth week of the season. Phillips, a sophomore defender from Lake Barrington, Illinois, led the back line for the 2-0-0 Red Men last week. During his time on the field, Carthage allowed just seven shots on goal in 165 minutes.

Carthage College men's cross country runner Michael Von Borstel was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Wednesday afternoon. Von Borstel was the driving force behind the Red Men's fourth-place finish at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Lucian Rosa Invite on October 8. The Orland Park, Ill. native crossed the finish line at 26:44.5, good enough for 17th place in the field of 178 runners.

CCIW Player of the Week - Football
The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced Monday that Carthage College's James Cobbs has been named the Week 5 CCIW Special Teams Player of the Week. Cobbs, a junior wide receiver/kick returner from Urbana, Illinois returned a first quarter kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown during a 38-14 win at Carroll on Saturday.

Carthage College freshman women's soccer goalkeeper Emily Furmanek was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Week. The Orland Park, Illinois native has been an iron woman patrolling the net as a freshman for the Lady Reds, starting in all seven games. Furmanek was the driving force behind Carthage's 2-0 record in a week that included 1-0 victories against Aurora University on September 21, and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on September 23.

CCIW Golfer of the Week
Carthage College women's golfer Sarah Lyman was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Golfer of the Week. Lyman's honor comes on the heels of a busy two-tournament week for the Lady Red golf team. The Normal, Ill. native was the driving force behind Carthage's pair of first-places finishes on the week. She paced all Lady Red golfers at the North Central Women's Golf Invitational on September 21 with a score of 77, good enough for second place in a field of 51 golfers.

Carthage College's Molly McQueeny was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Tuesday morning. The freshman from Geneva, Ill. set the tone in her young career when she registered a 24:09.3 at the Concordia University (Wis.) Ken Weidt Classic on September 10. Her mark was the best among all Lady Red runners, and fourth in the entire field of 137 participants.

Last week, the freshman from Chicago, Illinois earned his first career shutout in a 1-0 win over #18 Loras on Friday in the Red Men's only game of the week in his second career start.

Carthage senior JP Flores is a featured artist in Wisconsin Photography 2016, an exhibit at RAM's Wustum Museum in Racine. Wisconsin Photography is an annual statewide competition organized by the museum. The museum received 886 submissions from nearly 100 artists.
