"Tropical Ecology of Costa Rica" took students to different sites in Costa Rica to hike, explore, and research the countrys incredibly rich natural resources.

"Biodiversity, Brains and Behavior" gave students the opportunity to study the ecology of tropical America while learning about the evolution of nervous systems and behavior.

The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) has selected Carthage's Marc Hansen as MCVL Defensive Player of the Week. Hansen, a junior libero for Carthage, averaged 3.29 digs per set in two games and captured a team-high 11 digs in the Red Men's 3-1 win over Quincy. Hansen also collected 12 digs in Carthage's loss at Lindenwood. Hansen is a native of Oak Lawn, Ill. and is majoring in Mathematics.

The goal of the Intensive is to celebrate and recognize outstanding musical theatre students. Selected performers are offered the chance to work hands-on with Musical Theatre professionals and participate in a cabaret performance to be held at the end of the week of the festival.

The College Conference Of Illinois and Wisconsin announced Tuesday morning that Carthage College's Esmeralda Perez has been named the CCIW Women's Swimmer of the Week.

The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced that Carthage College's Aaron San Juan has been named the CCIW Diver of the Week following his performance this past weekend. He scored a personal lifetime best of 390.92, which established a new school record for a 1-meter, 11 dive meet.

A total of 972 students have been named to the Carthage College Dean's List for the Fall 2015 semester.

Yearly, Carthage College invites the community to celebrate the joy of the holiday season at the annual Carthage Christmas Festival, three performances of readings and music in the A. F. Siebert Chapel. These annual concerts are the College's Christmas gift to the community. Tickets to the Christmas Festival have been free since the festival began more than 20 years ago.

Up to eight Modern Language Scholarships are awarded to students majoring in Chinese (two scholarships), French (two scholarships), German (two scholarships), or Japanese (two scholarships).

Carthage annually offers renewable scholarships to high school seniors who have been accepted at Carthage, demonstrate ability in science and math, and show commitment to the values embodied by a liberal arts education. These scholarships incorporate all Carthage assistance.

The Carthage Business Scholarships comprise one full-tuition scholarship and two $27,000 per year scholarships incorporating all Carthage assistance.

The Multicultural Leadership Scholarship is awarded to applicants who exhibit exemplary leadership qualities and potential, and commitment to actively contribute to the diversity of Carthage through participation in campus activities. These scholarships incorporate all Carthage assistance.

Tarble Family California Scholarship is available to incoming freshmen or transfer students from California. Recipients will receive up to $25,000 per year in Carthage assistance.

The presidential scholarship is open to all majors and awards 35 scholarships ranging from 75% tuition to full tuition, room and board. During the campus visit, prospective Presidential Scholars will have a conversation with two faculty/staff members and/or complete an essay.

Two scholarships, renewable for up to three years, are awarded to new incoming transfer students who show determination, intelligence and motivation.

Eight full-tuition scholarships are awarded to Kenosha residents in recognition of the City of Kenosha's agreement to lease land to Carthage for construction of a student village and parking. These scholarships incorporate all Carthage assistance, and are valued in excess of $160,000 each.

One full-tuition scholarship is awarded to a dependent of a city of Kenosha police officer or firefighter.

The Lincoln Scholarship symbolizes the College's strong commitment to students seeking the challenge of the Carthage Honors Program and is named for Abraham Lincoln, an early Trustee of the College.

Carthage Dance presented its fall concert "Juxtapositions" Nov. 12-14. "Juxtapositions" is a web of dance works woven by moments of curious, delightful, and unexpected juxtapositions.

Jamie Tyrrell '17, an Asian Studies major whose regional interests include Japan and Korea, has received a Gilman Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State. The Gilman award provides up to $5,000 to apply toward study abroad or internship program costs.

Iftou Yoya, a History major from Minneapolis, Minn., received a Gilman Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State. The Gilman award provides up to $5,000 to apply toward study abroad or internship program costs, and Iftou also received an additional Critical Need Language Award for Arabic language study.

When two actors with a history are thrown together as romantic leads in a forgotten 1930's melodrama, they quickly lose touch with reality as the story they enact onstage follows them offstage. Stage Kiss is the newest play from award-winning playwright Sarah Ruhl, an artist gifted with a singular voice. It was performed at Carthage Oct. 23-31, 2015.
