Presidential Scholarship Winner
The presidential scholarship is open to all majors and awards 35 scholarships ranging from 75% tuition to full tuition, room and board. During the campus visit, prospective Presidential Scholars will have a conversation with two faculty/staff members and/or complete an essay.

Kenosha Scholarship Winner
Eight full-tuition scholarships are awarded to Kenosha residents in recognition of the City of Kenosha's agreement to lease land to Carthage for construction of a student village and parking. These scholarships incorporate all Carthage assistance, and are valued in excess of $160,000 each.

Jamie Tyrrell '17, an Asian Studies major whose regional interests include Japan and Korea, has received a Gilman Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State. The Gilman award provides up to $5,000 to apply toward study abroad or internship program costs.

Iftou Yoya, a History major from Minneapolis, Minn., received a Gilman Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State. Participated in Carthage Theatre's "Stage Kiss"
When two actors with a history are thrown together as romantic leads in a forgotten 1930's melodrama, they quickly lose touch with reality as the story they enact onstage follows them offstage. Stage Kiss is the newest play from award-winning playwright Sarah Ruhl, an artist gifted with a singular voice. It was performed at Carthage Oct. 23-31, 2015.

Participated in Carthage Theatre's "Afghanistan/Wisconsin Verbatim Theatre Project"
The "Afghanistan/Wisconsin Verbatim Theatre Project" is a play about the experiences of Wisconsin veterans of the Afghanistan conflict, based on personal interviews with local veterans collected over the summer of 2015. With the mission of fostering better understanding between vets and non-vets, the play took audiences inside the reality of training, deployment, and re-entry into the civilian world.

Named AVCA Third-Team All-America
Emily Heuermann, a senior neuroscience major from Washington, Ill., and outside hitter for the Lady Reds, earned AVCA Division III Third-Team All-America Honors. Heuermann was named First-Team All-CCIW in 2015 and was named to the NCAA Tournament Grand Rapids All-Regional Team. She currently holds Carthage's all-time career kills record and is ranked second in NCAA Division III and third across all divisions of the NCAA among active career leaders for total sets played with 557 sets played.

Named AVCA First-Team All-America
Karen Chin is a senior setter and graphic design major from Mundlein, Ill., and currently holds Carthage's all-time career assists record. In addition, Chin was named CCIW Player of the Year for the second consecutive year in 2015 and was named tournament MVP for the NCAA Tournament Grand Rapids Regional. Chin is the third player in Carthage women's volleyball history to earn AVCA All-American honors multiple times.

CCIW Women's Volleyball Player of the Year
Karen Chin was named CCIW Player of the Year for the 2015 season for the second year in a row. Chin was also named CCIW Player of the Year in 2014. This is the ninth time that a Carthage women's volleyball student-athlete has earned the honor.
